Motherhood
‘Motherhood’ examines the loneliness and loss of identity as a Mother experienced during the time of Covid-19. The burden of being homebound, keeping safe mixed with the distress and feelings of guilt from being far away from family back in Australia, for so long. Over time, blurring my own sense of identity and self worth
The images, each made up of multiple photographs and put together through a process of digital collage, aim to interpret the chaotic nature of these times: the juggling of obligation, mental load, anxiety and love. Showing that moments of frustration, tears and small fragments of joy can coexist together, creating an atmosphere like no other. Reminding us that there is beauty and humor in the most mundane of moments and that this too will pass.
